Finding Namazu; Rotary Student Travel Blog

  1. Hello, I'm Kainui

I just recently started blogging about my adventures in school. In about two months I will be headed to Japan and staying there for a year with a host family as part of Rotary Youth International. It would be great to see any other rotary students adventures are going! I am definitely not the only one out there. My blog is called findingnamazu because I wrote my senior paper on the impact of disasters on the japanese people. The namazu is a catfish that comes out of the water and creates the earthquakes and is subject to much research. Come read about me and follow my blog! I will update it frequently:

    About me post
Hello my names Kainui, and this is Finding Namazu. I live in Eugene Oregon and run with my weird dad and have fun skyping my sister in Finland.

I moved from the lava of Hawaii four years ago and I really like breathing in this new cloudy place. I’m a senior at South Eugene Highschool with 8 more weeks until freedom. I want to become an engineer or a physics researcher. This summer I’m hoping to be an assistant to an engineer at the University of Manoa.Or I might stay with a japanese host family this summer.

I am spending a year abroad sometime starting August/September 2012 in Japan as part of Rotary Youth Exchange! I accepted this opportunity as a new sequence in my life to dream, reflect, and improve… I will update you with important things I find as I get ready to leave my current life and my friends for a year.
