   How can I tell how many followers a blog has if the blog doesn't have it posted?

   The blog I need help with is aboywithshoes.wordpress.com.

   You can't. I don't post the numbers on my blog because I don't consider it to be anyone's business but mine. I don't want my high numbers to discourage others from subscribing to my blogs which are long standing blogs and not new ones.

   If you wish to check out the number of backlinks and the traffic follow a competing blog has use quantcast and alexa for metrics. Assuming the competing blog has been around for awhile you will see metircs that may satisfy your curiosity. These metrics are all public unless the blogger suppresses their display.
   Example 1 using your own blog:
   http://www.quantcast.com/aboywithshoes.wordpress.com
   Example 2 using your own blog
   http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/aboywithshoes.wordpress.com#

   I have a question about Quantcast stats:

   Mine are running about 1/2 what wordpress shows for total pageviews. Is there some reason for this? Any ideas why Quantcast wouldn't count a pageview?

   Also, I am curious as to how to turn it off - not that I want to, but it may be interesting in the future.
