Hi, I have never done this but have just been mucking around. I have no theme and my blog is very random. I am just experimenting. I havn't visited this forum over the last two months. Does anyone just write random stuff?
I just meander all over the place writing about what I feel like writing about, and my fonts, etc, grammar often goes unchecked so my site looks rather grotesque. I check my stats and I havn't ever had more than 146 views yet a day. (which is probably a good thing...lol)

  2. http://faq.wordpress.com is a good place to start if you have basic blogging questions. even if you don't have any at the moment, it's good to read what's around because it'll come in handy when you blog in the future.

a lot of blogging is done by trial and error by everybody. we don't start a blog knowing automatically how everything works. it's good to ask for help, but it's also good to try and seek answers yourself first, because wordpress is filled with information for first-time bloggers. even past forum threads are not deleted for other bloggers to search and learn from them.

as for blogging content, there are no rules at all. blog as you wish. i certainly do!

  3. there are no rules at all.

Except for such things like child porn, hate speech, etc. of course.

  4. I dont know how to reply to 38pitches.com Shillings blog site. Can anyone help me?

  5. How to reply to a blog? I'm not sure what you mean...did they email you? If so, email them back. If you want to comment on one of their posts and they've enabled commenting, just leave a comment. If they haven't enabled commenting, and you can't find an email for them or a contact form, you're out of luck. Some blogs don't facilitate two-way communication.

Also, when your question is not related to a previous question, start a new thread, don't bring up a dead one.

  6. Thanks Raincoaster, what I mean is. I want to reply to 38pitches.com. It asks me to sign in which takes me to another page. Then when I go back to 38pitches .com it asks me to log in again. :( ..Sorry I am new to this I just am trying to leave a reply to his blog.

  7. Well did you log back in?

  8. yes i did. I guess I need blogging for dummies here.

  9. What page are you looking at? A link would be helpful.

  10. 38pitches.com...........curt shillings page. thanks for the help

There seems to be something wrong with the site. It tells you you need to lgin even if you are logged in, just tried it. If you click the login link it takes you back to the wordpress.com home page.

As for a link, he already gave it drmike, a few posts up:- 38pitches.com

  12. It's better to leave it as a real, live link: http://www.38pitches.com We're real lazy.

If the registration thing isn't working, send a Feedback to staff. I am assuming here that it's not a VIP blog with its own registration system.

    [Edited link - drmike]

  13. I was asking for a link to where specifically the poster is trying to leave the comment, not a link to the website. (ie a post)

You'll note that he or she is seeing the bit about "You need to be logged in to leave a comment..." That means they're on a Post page. That's teh URL I was asking for. Not for the blog itself.

lol drmike is lazy >.< its aproblem with the site as a whole, ive tried to login several times on that site from different posts but it dosent work. But here you go:

    http://38pitches.com/2007/06/09/6707-vs-oakland-and-shaking-off-%e2%80%98tek%e2%80%a6%e2%80%a6/#comments

  15. If some people are able to comment but others are not, it's probably a browser issue. I get this alot using IE6. Do the posts have comments on them?

  16. Actually I was asking for the poster to provide a link. :)

It may not be on the site as a whole or they may been looking at teh front page without realizing that they need to be looking at a post page. Or they could be looking at a Post where comments have been turned off.

That's why I was asking for a direct link.

  17. Thx everyone who is trying to help me with this problem. Yes I get the the blog site, asks me to sign in , takes me to different page. I go back to page. All this time it does say on bottom leave reply. Wont let me. Others seem to be able to. thx for trying drmike, tiamatsdisciple and the rest. tiamatsdisciple, you do se what I mean? I am using IE7. If anyone has any ideas for me to try besides forget about 38pitches.com. I welcome them. Should I change any settings? just a thought. If I could write to the people who put up 38pitches.com I would but I really cant find anywhere to voice my problem. :(

  18. If anyone has any ideas for me to try besides forget about 38pitches.com.

You still haven't answered my question. What is the specific URL that you're trying to comment on? You gave the blog URL. I need to post page that you're looking at.

Also logout, clear your browser's file and cookie cache and log back in and se if that helps.

I thought tiamatsdisciple descibed it better than I can...I just want to leave a reply..
What now...your the expert here. I dont know how else to explain. Why are others able to reply and I cannot. I dont want to take up a whole page and everyones time in answering something that I assumed you would know drmaike. You try logging into 38pitches.com and try to reply. If you are able to do so pls tell me what you did. thx for your time.

  20. Did you clear your browser cache and cookies and try to comment again? That was the suggestion, and it usually works.

  21. Yes rain, tried that. nada. Has anyone else tried to reply to 38pitches.com blog? I know its most likely something I am missing. thx for the help anyways. grateful for all who have tried to help.

  22. I have left comments there before but lately have had the same problem you're having. It tells me I need to log in. So I click on LOG IN and it takes me to a worldpress page that already says "Wecome Varitekchick" so I AM logged in. But if I go back to 38pitches, hit refresh, it still doesn't recognize me as logged in. VERY frustrating. I'm going to try the cookie and cache thing...

  23. I have found that the more I blog, the more I care about the appearance and the theme. It sort of starts out with a bit more experimentation and then I just get geeky about it..hehe. ;)

  24. I am new out in blogging.. yes I am searching for information how to get started in blogging.. so can anyone help me ..I will be really very thankful

  29. This is my first time blogging, but i think we need a new party and its name should be demarep... if i dont like the party they select for me i'll vote demarep.. i dont like the way they shove the candidates down everyone throat and then tell them what their opinion is of that candidate.. the news media goes tooooooo far.. I am a Hillary fan myself, to each his or her own. but i am not an Opera fan. My opinion is everyone thinks a vote for obama is a vote for Opera, which may be so. Talk about change, Dr jeckel and MR. Hide was a change ... IF hillary does not make it ,count me in on being a republican this year.. What say you, Does anyone else feel the way i do.. Frances

  30. Hello Friends
My first time blogging as well.
    Christian thought about my self.
Have you ever seen or heard of some one who can answer the question where do I come from.
I am righting about me self, I was in heaven as a spirit child with no parents and come across a remains of a old out dated battlefield of buildings destroyed with columns laying down on the ground made of white stone.
And this first thing I seen was clear blue sky with white clouds not a hospital.
But sky its self. And I ended up on the ground and chaseing a small boy ahead of me.
And we both to make a long story short.
Ended up in a gray to smokey looking area passing up others.
    And he disapeared on me.
And I had fell through a hole some place to slide down a slick wall of a light spear from above me.
And had balls of of light coming at me from my right luminateing a small leg of which I gave no thought too at the time.
It had a small foot attached to it.
I was trying to avoid the lights because they scared me in such a way I knew not.
And I turned over where I fell down at and tried toescape only to find my self stuck neck deep with my head bounceing around in open air here geting wet in the face ofcourse.
And a large hand wipeing my face with a unknown ruff deviceat the time.
I had no idea that this ofcourse was my mortal child birth then.
    For me.
You see I am 51 now and have went through the hole thing here recalling it every day.
This large thing that I was stuck in here.
Turned out to be my mortal mother in the hospital then.
And I had shrunk in size from about 3 feet down to 21 inches and small enough for live birth.
No I am not crazzie I asure you.
This was a live birth for me and my book is now go forth and teach the people at Amazon.com
And this is no sales pitch.
I have yet to get any one to tell me why we are allowed to remember going through such a thing in our lives unless God had entended for it to be.
    Book is 69 pages.
    with drawings by me.
If some one has had such expierence
I would not mind knowing about it.
    paperback or hardback
    JM
