    Does the follower who is signed up receive a NOTICE of a new posting or the actual blog?

    I have my wife signed up and she seems to be getting the posting but unfortunately in email format it is not as attractive. I know she can click on the title and go to the actual blog but I'm not sure all of my potential followers will do that

    I would like the ability to send a NOTICE with a "click Here" kind of button which would take them to the blog

    Any way to do that?

    Please either post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question or link your username to it. It’s very easy to do. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

    Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

    You didn't do it correctly because your username is still not linked. A link without the http:// is not an active link. Is this the blog in question or not? http://frippgrandpa.wordpress.com/

    It's weird that it's not working. The follower receives what's in your RSS feed for posts > http://frippgrandpa.wordpress.com/feed/

    Unfortunately I'm not able to find the widget "Follow Blog" in my Widgets page. Should I install it?

    I would like to put a subscribe text and button in my blog so that users can get information when new posts are available

    @kamranagayev, that site is self-hosted and you need to head over to the WordPress.org forums as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

    These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.

    If you are not familiar with the differences, see this support document.

    I want to NOTIFY my subscribers of a new post but NOT sent the email version of the post.....

    That's not the way the email subscriptions operate. You can only control how much is in the RSS Feed by using the RSS syndication "summary" option rather than the full post option found on this page > Settings > Reading

    I was referring to linking your primary blog to your username. I provided the instructions above and thought it had not worked as there was no link yesterday but today there is.

    I'm not a WP expert, but what I do is to use "read more" when writing the post...Adding "read more" cuts off the post at that point on the homepage, and also in the email announcement. If the reader wants to read the rest they click on "read more" --it's a link that takes them to the full post on your blog. You can put it after the first sentence, paragraph, wherever you want...Makes the email function like an announcement, since the reader can only read the first sentence or paragraph of the post.

    Which blog are you referring to? Please post an active link to it starting with http://

    If and only if you are referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog then note these entries:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/
    Your site stats page displays how many followers you have, who your followers are, as well as how many people are subscribed to post comments on your site.

    thanks ingridcc....i like the "read more" idea and so I can either RSS feed a summary versus the full post or use the read more idea. I would still like a simple email notify but now I know what my current options are..

    If you insert "the more tag" into your posts that creates excerpts on your front page of your blog.

    If you select RSS Syndication feed "summary" on this page > Settings > Reading that does not effect the posts on your front page; they will remain full posts.

    @meirozavian: If you mean something like Google Friend Connect, then sorry, that feature simply does not exist here at WordPress.com.
