followers list different from the All users list

  1. Why my followers list appearing on site stats is different from the All users followers list? There is some people who accepted the invitation and I have them as followers on the all "users list", but they do not figure in the Followers list appearing in "Dashboard>Site stats>Totals, Followers & Shares"

The blog I need help with is champslibresfontenay.wordpress.com.

  2. The followers you see on the Users page in the dashboard are only those you invited by email.

The stats page shows all followers, i.e. those whom you invited as well as anyone who followed your blog through the follow button in the wordpress toolbar or a subscription widget.

  3. Thanx for your anwser... and yes, I know... i didn't make myself clear.

The problem is that some people I invited and who accepted the invitation do not appear in the stats page and finally they're not receiving any notification when I post and article. As a matter of fact I have 95 people in the "all users list" and 83 in the other one, so less than the first one.

Furthermore, I have another issue connected I think to this first one:
one guy who once was author, after he decided he didn't want to contribute to the blog but just stay as follower, he can no longer receive anything. The only way I found to let him receive the posts was to put his adress on the "Email Post Changes" as an additional adress. Weird solution, as he's getting the drafts, but I couldn' find anything better. I tried to invited him again and again, suppressed his profile and invite him again, but it didn't work.

    Thanx again

  4. I don't know what could be causing that. I'll tag this for staff to follow up. Please subscribe to the thread and be patient while waiting for a response.

  5. Hi Janz!

I'm looking at your blog's stats page here:

    https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=57990178

and I am seeing 83 blog followers and 20 pending.

As I saw your subscriber stats page:

    https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=57990178&blog_subscribers&unit=1

The numbers all correspond to the ones in the stats page.

Can you please share with me the URL where you're seeing the 95 people in the "all users list"? Can you also give a few users who have accepted your invitation but aren't showing up in your subscribers list?

In addition, please ensure that the users who aren't receiving email notifications have the correct delivery settings:

Please give me the username so I look into it.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

  6. thanx for your help... as for the first part of the question, I'm sorry, actually I was counting also the people whose invitation is still pending.

Anyway here's the contacts I've have problems with:

[email redacted] - he's in the "all user list" and he accepted but he's not in the "stats list".

[email redacted] - has the opposite situation, she's in the "stats list" even if she didn't accept the invitation.

[email redacted] - she claims that she respected all the procedures and she still doesn't get any mail notification.

[email redacted] - she's the one who previously was an author and who's having trouble in receiving mail

    thanx again for your help

  7. Hi there,

When you invite someone to be a user on a blog, that does not automatically add that user as a follower. If the new user wants to receive updates from the blog, they will need to follow the blog, too: Following Blogs

Likewise, someone can choose to follow the blog without being a user on the blog. We have more details about followers and users on blogs here:

Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

  8. Hi thanx again for your help... ok so I guess that this will fix the situation for the user.
But I still have problems with the other three people who are not receiving notification even if they appear either on the "stats list" o on the "all users list". and this for the first two adresses i indicated
This user "[email redacted]" she still claims she respected the procedure and nothing happen. I guess she's making some mistake so I told her to follow the blog through the follow botton instead.

So... I think I have two people left who are still in trouble with their notification.

Thanx again for all your answers, it really helped me to figure out some details I didn't really fully understand

  9. Ok, I checked all four email addresses you mentioned earlier, plus the one you mentioned in your last message. Here's what I found (listed in the same order that you gave me the email addresses):

[email redacted] - His subscription is pending. In other words, he subscribed to receive updates via email but he hasn't confirmed his subscription (by clicking the confirmation link in the email he received about his subscription). If he hasn't received that confirmation email, he may need to check his email's Junk/Spam folder to see if it ended up there.

[email redacted] - Her subscription is also pending (same as above).

[email redacted] - This email address isn't subscribed. She'll need to sign up to follow the blog at this email address in order to get email updates.

[email redacted] - Her subscription is also pending (same situation as above).

And the email address you gave in your last message: [email redacted] - Her subscription is pending (same situation as above).

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
