On my business blog it lists 266 followers. This blog gets very few hits, maybe one a day; whereas my other blog gets over 100 per day and has 32 followers. I am certain this one does not have 266 followers. How did this happen and what should I do?
The blog I need help with is marcysbookbuster.wordpress.com.
Have you checked on the stats about your followers on the two blogs: support.wordpress.com/followers? Are the names / emails of the followers listed there?
My other blog does list the names of my followers, but the one with 266 does not, another reason to think it is wrong. There is no way to contact administration at WP anymore, is there?

There are several different ways that readers can start following your blog. Note that followers do not need to be registered with WordPress.com. Anyone following your blog with an email address that’s not associated with a WordPress.com account will be sent details of how to confirm and manage the sites they’re following without needing to register at WordPress.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/
Staff added social media followers you have on platforms that you have turned on under "Publicize." So the total number of followers displayed by the Follow Blog Widget includes blog followers, FB, and Twitter followers. I suppose it's the total number of followers in one sense, but it's not the total number of blog followers so it's misleading.
Yes we can contact Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ Note: When we create a support ticket by contacting Staff it’s important to understand they have a backlog. They provide support for 31 million and they deal with the support tickets with the earliest dates first. So if we contact them more than once of the same issue the date moves forward and it takes longer to get help.

Since the blog in question wasn't connected to Facebook, Twitter et al, the answer isn't the one from timethief. My other blog is connected and it only has 32 followers. I am sure this is a mistake.
