I am migrating my blog from a wordpress.com site to a wordpress.org site. Everything has seamlessly transferred except for my followers. I would like to transfer my followers as well. I have 404 email and wordpress followers that need to be migrated. Please help. JetPack is installed.
The blog I need help with is vampirenovelfan.wordpress.com.
In addition to that, the publicize feature which is activated does not appear to be displaying my facebook and twitter followers either. They were originally all combined as 1 figure (Twitter, Facebook, WordPress, and email). I would like that for my new site as well if possible.
Does this require a bump?
Staff can can move your email subscribers only. Followers using the WordPress.com Reader cannot be transferred.
What's required is:
installation and activation of the JetPack plugin;
posting both URLs ie. the underlying .wordpress.com URL and the domain URL into this forum thread;
tagging the thread with modlook in the sidebar;
subscribing to the thread so you are notified when Staff make the transfer.

Thank you for the transfer. However, I am trying to reach out to the wordpress.com readers as well. I had 79 of them. Though they were moved over, I cannot access them from my new site though I can see the number still there. Can those users be copied (not transferred) back to my wordpress site so that I can create an announcement post that they'll be able to see?

Your WordPress.com followers were transferred as well, not just email subscribers. They'll be able to view your new posts just as previously. Let me know if this is not the case.
I spoke with a couple of them and they said that they haven't received any notifications of my latest posts since the transfer.
You can view all your subscribers in your Site Stats. Go to the Site State page and click on the link at the bottom under 'Followers' to see all your blog/comment followers.

I can view the number of total subscribers, however when I click the "WordPress.com Followers" link I cannot see them. It only shows my email followers. My email followers are receiving my posts fine, however my wordpress.com followers have reported that they are not receiving notifications for my new posts.
Also, is there a way for my subscriptions to include my Publicize followers like on the wordpress.com sites?

It looks like you actually purchased domain mapping, not a site redirect. Mapping only applies to sites that are hosted with WordPress.com. Since you've moved to a self-hosted site, the mapping upgrade may be interfering with your WordPress.com followers' ability to view your posts in their Reader, so I've removed it and credited your account with $13 so that you can purchase the Site Redirect instead. Please let me know if this solves the issue for your WordPress.com followers.
In terms of not being able to see the list of your WordPress.com followers, I will investigate.
I just noticed that you had used the domain mapping upgrade as part of a Value Bundle package purchased not that long ago, so I've removed the credits for now.
Since you've now moved to a self-hosted site, would you like a refund on your Value Bundle?
Hi. Thank you for the help. Actually I requested a refund initially after I decided to move to a self-hosted site (it was under 24 hours), so yes, please make sure the refund has been applied. Basically, I want to make sure the traffic from my first site goes to my new site now. WordPress.com people are now receiving new posts but I still can't see them directly in the site stats like I can with the email followers. I will purchase the site redirect. So issues now are:
1) I cannot see my wordpress.com followers in the site stats
2) Publicize subscribers (facebook and twitter) have not been added in with my blog followers like it was on wordress.com. I would like the lump sum counter reinstated if possible.
Actually, it seems like some wordpress people are getting it and some aren't. I think it will help when I can actually see the followers again. I can try to reach out individually to those I know.

The Value Bundle upgrade has been removed, and the refund issued. It can take 1-2 weeks for the refund to be reflected on your account.

Publicize counts are connected to each post's URL (web address). Because you didn't have a custom domain previously, your post URLs changed when you switched over to a self-hosted site. This means that your Publicize numbers were reset. Sorry for any inconvenience.

We don't have a tool to copy followers, only move them - sorry about that.

kathrynwp, I have a similar problem with the Followers, but I'm updating my own thread.
1) Well then could they be temporarily moved back over to my old site so that I can post and they'll receive it? I'd link to the new site so that my regulars will at least see it.
2) http://i47.tinypic.com/2mewmps.png - this is the new site. Subscriptions at the bottom only lists email and wp.com followers. I've gone through the steps to include publicize, but it will not display it.

I have more Facebook followers than that now, and I have linked both to my new site. Since linking I have acquired additional members, but even still the new followers are not showing up in my subscriptions. Basically I would like my Twitter and Facebook count to show up like it did with the second link with my blog followers.

In this one: http://i47.tinypic.com/2mewmps.png - 424 is the total of your 78 WordPress.com followers and your 346 email subscribers, so it does look like all your .com followers and email subscribers are there. If you click on that number, you may see more details.
I've confirmed with our developers and Publicize followers are not shown on Jetpack sites; that is a WordPress.com-only feature.

Your WordPress.com followers can see your posts in the Reader, like they used to before the move. You can view your WordPress.com followers and email subscribers via Jetpack dashboard, under Site Stats. Let me know the usernames of any WordPress.com followers that cannot see your new posts in their Reader, and I'll have a further look.

I understand that they SHOULD get the updates, but they are NOT based on the users I have spoken with about it.

Could you please let me know a username (or usernames) of WordPress.com followers who claim that they cannot see the latest posts in Reader? I noticed that you last posted on February 1st and have not posted since, maybe that's why people are saying they are not seeing your posts in the Reader?

It looks like you are using Firefox, is that right? Could you please try a different browser, like Safari or Chrome, and let me know if the WordPress.com followers list is visible in a different browser?

Correct, this is still being looked at. I tested with one WordPress.com subscriber and was able to see your latest posts in the Reader. It would really help the investigation if you could post the usernames of people who say they don't see the posts in the Reader, even though they are subscribed. Knowing the details will help us track down what's going wrong.

We don't have the ability to move WordPress.com followers but not email followers. I could only move all the Jetpack followers (email and WordPress.com) back to your old site http://vampirenovelfan.wordpress.com/ if you want.
My suggestion is that we focus on specific usernames of people who are not seeing your site in Reader, and also that you try different browser so that we rule out the browser issue (for WordPress.com followers list not being clickable in your Jetpack dashboard). Would you be willing to try that instead?
Hi Jenia! I do appreciate the help. I think we're getting somewhere.
1. After speaking with a couple of wp.com users them the reader actually is not the issue. My wordpress followers used to get updates that also post to their emails when I make new posts. They are no longer getting those emails. The users are kddidit and unwastedwords as examples.
2. I have used Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Internet Explorer all to no avail when it comes displaying the wordpress list. But thank you VERY much for showing me that workaround. I can see them there. Whew!
3. I listed the two above. Kddidit and Unwastedwords. But now that I can see my list of WP followers I can follow up with more of them to double check.

Thanks for the details, that's very helpful. I'm going to investigate further and will post an update once I have more information for you regarding the email notifications. In the meantime, as a workaround, those users can either subscribe via email on your site or unsubscribe and resubscribe with the Reader and enable email modifications.

Can you see the wp.com followers on your self-hosted site this way? Can you then click through to email followers and back to wp.com followers?
1) Okay, I will let them know. I see that you joined my site. I am going to try to make a post later this evening so that you can get a new update. I signed up for another wp account just to test things out and I didn't receive emails under my wp.com account. I had to use my email even though I requested to get email updates from my wp.com settings.
2) Yeah, and I've used browsers with 2 computers (mac and PC) which yield the same result.
3) I cannot see my wp.com followers on the self-hosted site. It only displays email followers. I click the wp link and it will fresh only showing email followers. the WP link never highlights.
