Footer - Appearance

  1. Hello,

I am new to Word press having just migrated from Blogger. I am trying to remove footer text from my blog. Can you help?

  2. What footer text? Specifically, what words?

  3. Removing footer text can get your blog suspended

The current policy about the footer in the support documentation:

May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit.

  4. The text is Blog at WordPress.com Theme: Skeptical by Woo Themes.

Wow, I did not realise that, I will just have to leave it there then I guess.

Thank you all for your comments!

  5. You be welcome & good luck

I used the forever theme for my blog, and I understand I have to include the footer, but I don't like that it says "Another Beautiful wedding theme from WordPress.com" in addition to listing the name of the theme.

My blog has nothing to do with weddings. Can I just take the "beautiful wedding" part out?

  7. Same problem here. I don't think that the text "Another Beautiful wedding theme from WordPress.com" should be there and it has nothing to do with credits.

Of course it is up to the theme designer to write whatever they want on the footer, especially considering that it is a free theme, but when you pay a WP Pro subscription, and as long as you keep the "Blog at WordPress.com - Theme Forever by Automattic" link, you should have the option to decide what additional text goes on your theme's footer.
