footer for Fresh & Clean theme

  1. Does anyone know how to customize the footer for the Fresh & Clean theme? I can't find a widget. If there is a way to change the css, how would I add links?

    The blog I need help with is todaysbride.wordpress.com.

  2. We are required that you keep the footer credits and links intact.

    May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    I don't help with CSS but if you are trying to place a copyright in a text widget and use position absolute to have it appear in the footer I do believe that can be done. Not to worry as this upgrade comes with Staff support.

  3. There isn't a way to add links using CSS only, but you could try to reposition a widget but I see that your blog is using infinite scroll so the footer is a little different than most cases. I would suggest adding links to a text widget at the bottom of one of the sidebars before I would reposition something into the footer overlay which is subject to change. Here is the help page about how to add a text widget in case that works out:

  4. Thanks designsimply.

    Just trying to add a footer to the theme Fresh & Clean to match our site, I thought I had seen an example of a fresh & clean template with a different footer, (not trying to get rid of any wordpress copyright information) just trying to add to it, possibly above it.

  5. Aha, the blog linked in your help request http://todaysbride.wordpress.com/ is not using the Fresh & Clean theme. :) In the future, could you please include a link to the blog you're working on when you ask for help?

    Using CSS, there is an easy way to add text but not links. Here is an example:

    #site-info p:after {
    	content: " Copyright XYZ."
    }

    Adding links is possible if you create a text widget, copy down the exact id value from the page source, and then use absolute positioning to move it to the bottom of the page. That would take a bit more work.

  6. Pls I need advice on this matter

    I received an email from Kyla @WPExplorer. her message goes, "Attn Webmaster,

    I writing on behalf of WPExplorer.com. We are requesting that you remove our link from your footer on hronlineph.com.

    To remove the link, simply login in to your WordPress installation dashboard, go to Appearance, and then Editor. You will see the footer.php on the right side. Please remove our link from there.

    Alternatively, you can provide us with login credentials and we will remove the link for you.

    We are trying to reduce our number of backlinks to improve SEO. Thank you in advance for your timely assistance in the removal of this link.

    Should you have any questions please contact me at this email.

    Kyla @WPExplorer"

    I am not sure about this and as I was searching for the issue of editing my footer in your support page, I think it will be impossible for me to comply with her request according to the policy I saw.

    I don't think it's right and i'm not comfortable with giving away my log-in information to anyone.

    Thanks

  7. Don't give them log in - very bad

    The footer is by WordPress.COM and is required by the Terms of Service - removing footer credits can get your site suspended - they need to contact WP.COM since the footer link is part of the theme so removal would be done by WordPress.COM not individual blogs - all the blogs share the same themes - you can't change the functionality of a theme -
