Footnotes and text layout

  1. Hi all

I want to put up a page containing a long essay (from MSWord) that includes many references and footnotes. Is there a way to do this that doesn't involve a big editing job? What is the easiest way to go about it?

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is theworldknot.wordpress.com.

  2. Did you investigate the annotum themes as I suggested a few days ago?

Or you could try using Microsoft WORD to create the document and then use Windows Live writer to upload it into your blog.

  3. Thanks. Yes, I checked these out. I was looking for something simpler for dealing with just one article. Don't want Annotum so it'll have to be Livewriter.

So, another day spent downloading and getting to know yet another piece of idiosyncratic software.

Not your fault. Thanks for the tips.

  5. While I can't use LiveWriter, (I'm using Macs) lots of other volunteers have recommended it over the years I've been here, including timethief who posted about it in the link I gave you earlier. I think you will find it useful. If you have difficulties with it, then feel free to post here for more help.

  6. I'm sure you're right. I'm just fed up with this constant battle with technology. Nothing is ever straightforward. But Livewriter looks fine. Pardon my grumpiness.

  7. Sorry 1tess, but I must very stupid. I have installed Livewriter, checked the features and read what I can on the forums and relevant help files.

And I still do not know how to add footnotes. No idea at all. They just get stripped out of any text I add to Live Writer and I cannot see any way to add them back in.

Do I add them back in as HTML links? If so, then how is Live Writer easier for doing this than just using the HTML editor?

    I must be misunderstanding something.
