Forever Theme / Sidebar on home page?

    Just wondering if the sidebar is supposed to show up on the homepage when you have the checkbox checked for the 4 featured images? It's showing up (with widgets) underneath the featured images on the right side, with a big gap on the left side. It looks this way on the demo. It seems very odd so wondering if it's supposed to be this way.

    Also, it looks like there is a spacing problem with some of the widgets. The search widget for example, there isn't space on the bottom of the widget. And this also happen with a text widget that contained social media icons.

    a) You just need to increase the number of posts per page in Settings > Reading.

    b) The text widget issue needs fixing. In the meantime, replace the p tags you've used with this:
    <div style="height:42px;"></div>

    Yes, the widget deal needs fixing by staff. The Search looks weird too.

    Here's another possible "Forever" glitch. There's no link from the theme title in the footer to the wordpress.com theme showcase page.

    And another little glitchy thing, the photo is aligning correctly in the gravatar. I've seen that on two blogs now.

    You're welcome. As I said, you can create some space below the icons by pasting the code I suggested.

    What I don't like about the sidebar in general in this theme is that there's a divider line below instead of above the widget titles, so the title looks like it belongs to the content of the previous widget.

    Thanks for bringing these to our attention. We made fixes for text and search widgets styling as well as the link in the footer.

    I'm not sure if I understood the issue you are referring by this line.

    Could you please let me know little a bit more about this?

    Sorry, what I meant is that the photo is not aligning in the center of the frame that the theme puts around it. You can see that in the sidebar of my blog. I also saw the exact same thing on another blog using this theme.

    I saw you fixed the problem with the search widget. And the link to the theme, great!

    Hi, I am trying to use this theme for my wedding website. The right sidebar took up half of the width and has a lot of space on the right side, while the main post is narrow. How do I change the width of the sidebar and make the main column wider, like this website http://alwayswellwithin.com/?

    I am having the same issue as joyceleung1110. The sidebar and main post are aligned left (not centered) and too narrow. It doesn't look like the Forever example and other websites like http://alwayswellwithin.com/? I love the way this theme is supposed to look, how can I fix it?

    Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question. Then understand that one does not make sidebars wider or blogging spaces wider unless that option is available in the theme or they purchase a custom design upgrade. Also note that Forever is a responsive width theme and that means that the layout adapts depending on the size of the device you use to view the site width, and also displays sidebars below the post content when viewed on smaller screens.

    Looks like it's a browser bug. It centers correctly in IE9 and Firefox, but not Chrome for me.

    I'm with you. The theme renders correctly in Firefox 9.0.1

    The blog linked to your username is wearing the Freshy theme and not the Forever theme. We can't help you with a blog we cannot see. Please post an active link starting with http:// to your blog wearing the Forever theme.

    Layout issues with Forever in Chrome or where a blog only has one post and it's featured should be fixed up now. Let us know if you run into any other theme wonkiness.

    This may be a stupid question, but my slider is up and working, but the photo I'm using is getting cut off - What's the optimal size to use?? The heads of the people in the photos are getting cut off and I can't see an option to move the picture around to choose what part gets displayed anywhere. Assuming that the other option is to resize it. I'm rather embarrassed to be asking this many questions, but there aren't too many themes with sliders (actually i think this may be the only free one, so there isn't too much information out there!)
