Hi, I have an old blog from 2010 that is linked to a student email address which no longer exists. I cannot remember the password leaving me in a catch 22 situation. Any ideas or suggestions as I would like to delete the blog??

Same here - password reset requests go to a no longer functioning address. I can prove I am the owner of the blog by several ways but am unable to contact a member of staff to do this.

sagelycounsel and jessfholt, do you have access to your account's API key? This was sent in your Welcome email with a note to keep it safe. We'll need either that or an email from the address on the account to prove ownership.
mpharmon, we have no record of that domain here, which leads me to believe that is was a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can't help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.

This is attached to an old student email address which has since been deleted as I am no longer a student. I didn't forward the email to my current address as the blog has been inactive for approximately 2 years.
So I do not have the API key nor am I able to send an email from the address. :/
People don't seem to understand that it is the USER'S responsibility to store this information, not the company or website.
Many websites are now charging a fee to recover a password under the conditions above, others don't do password recovery at all.
