Formatting issues with McKinley

    Hi, I have McKinley and while writing my blog, I am having major formatting issues.

    When in Visual editing mode:
    First, when I select a snippet of text, such a a 3 word title on a single line, to change the style from "paragraph" to "Headline 2," it changes everything below that. All formatting below is changed.

    Second, when I select the photo to add a caption, it changes all the formatting below the image as well.

    Third, I constantly have to fix the formatting after publication.

    It's gotten to a point where it's a hassle to publish a post.

    In Text mode:
    Any HTML formatting of embedded images (I upload to my website on SmugMug and then embed the image in my blog) changes upon saving or publishing so that I have to go back in and reformat. The "href" link changes, the "info," "title," and "target" changes.

    It's rather annoying and time consuming since it takes about 3 times as long to fix the formatting (which I can't fix 100%)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank You.

    The blog I need help with is blog.paulconrad.photography.

    Hi there!

    I'm sorry to hear you're having such trouble! Can you give me a link to a post where you're experiencing these issues?

    It's not a particular post. It's in EDITING mode where I'm having issues.

    The main issue is not being able to center photos (especially verticals), and the captions are HUGE and black so you can't read them. Also, when selecting text to change from "paragraph" to "Header," all the text below it changes too.

    I usually have it cleaned up before publishing.

    But here are few links:

    Thanks for that info! Let's get you sorted out!

    First, when I select a snippet of text, such a a 3 word title on a single line, to change the style from "paragraph" to "Headline 2," it changes everything below that. All formatting below is changed.

    I think I know what you mean here. Because of the way HTML tags work, when you change the format from paragraph (<p>) to something like Header 1 (<h1>), it changes the entire chunk (or paragraph) of text. This is expected behavior.

    As for your image editing issues, are you making your edits directing in the Text editor? Or are you making changes in the Visual editor that aren't correct when you move to the Text editor?

    Can you try editing your link, target, and alignment through the image editor in the Visual editor? Here's a guide on these settings in the editor:

    Let me know if you're still having these issues when you do it that way.

    As for the captions, it looks like some of this is probably due to your custom CSS. Try adding this code to format your captions:

    .wp-caption .wp-caption-text, .entry-caption, .gallery-caption {
        color: #ffffff;
        font-size: .7em;
    }
