FORUM PLUGIN URGENTLY NEEDED

Please I urgently need a kind of forum plugin to embed in my website.

The Kind of forum where one can post a problem and then others can comment on the problem. One should be able to sign in with social network accounts. The plugin should allow for serveral problem topics, have moderators in the forum, etc.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is princeaduappiah.wordpress.com.

  2. There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
    That only exists onWordePress.ORG installs.

There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins.

You have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.
a custom link to the forum in it.

Thank you so much 'timethief'. Your reply has been helpful.

But please I want to add a forum to my WordPress Website through a purchased WordPress theme, not a free hosted WordPress blog. This means I have a FTP access and can install plugins.

Can I still use P2 in my website? I want one of the menus on my website to link to the forum page of my website(not free blog).

    Thanks alot!

    Hi!!!

I just installed the P2 theme and tried it. It's good but you know it's also a theme, and I don't think more that one wp themes (as in my websites theme & the P2 theme) can be installed and used at the same time. Please I hope you get it?

This is why I asked of a plugin at first. Since one can install a wp theme and add a plugin and benefit from both at the same time.

Really need some help. Thank you.

  5. WordPress.COM facts of life

    1) NO Plugin's

    2) One theme per URL (blog)

  6. Hello againg,
Will you please retuirn to my articles and note what I stated very clearly at (2) Create another blog use the P2 theme on it. Then add official users to that blog and/or post a follow blog widget. Create a custom menu on your main blog and include a custom link to the P2 blog in it.

    This is brilliant! Excellent! Amazing.
Thanks so so much. It worked!!!
    Just as I wanted.

I guess I can now get a plugin that will allow subscribers or followers to signup with their Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, Google, Yahoo or whichever medium they want to use to login.

    God bless!

    re: plugins http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.com is a multiuser blogging platform. Our blogs are not free standing. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins. There is no upgrade you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to install plugins, upload themes, and/or edit templates and themes in a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

To use plugins you must hire a web host and then set up your own WordPress.org install.

    Sure you are right!
I have hired a web host and have set up my own WordPress.org install.
    :-)
    Thanks for the link.

  11. Then the workarounds I provided are not relevant. If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Well, I just created a new website for the P2 Forum, gave it a sub-domain and then created a menu in my main website to link to the new sub-domain(which is for the P2 forum website).

I have also installed a particular plugin that allows the admin and other users (author, contributor, editor, etc.) to share their posts to everyone. It's fine.

But my issue now has to do with "subscribers". For now I see that before a subscriber can post a New Comment, he/she has to register with WordPress only. (For commenting on an old post, a subscriber has to provide just a name and email and then comment)

I REALLY WANT SUBSCRIBERS TO BE ABLE TO REGISTER WITH their Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, Google, Yahoo or whichever medium they want to use and not just WordPress. So they can also post NEW COMMENTS

  13. Guess what? You have a WordPress.org problem. That means you're in the wrong forum. We can't help you any more. Go to WordPress.org.
