Forums, Click on thread title >> Go to first Unread post

  1. Typical behavior on most forums across the web is to be taken to the first Unread post when you click on the thread title. Some have some sort of "New" icon you can click on.

Here, it seems you always are taken to the first post of the thread, no matter how many posts or pages it contains.

The blog I need help with is thetarnishedbadge.wordpress.com.

  2. I have been caught too many times responding to the last comment posted into a thread and not reading the entire thread from top to bottom to agree with this suggestion. Threads are posted by those who need help and when there are others posting into theme saying "I have the same issue" but that isn't always the case at all. Thread jacking is going on all the time because those who post are too "new" to know forum etiquette.

  3. I support this suggestion.

  4. I have been caught too many times responding to the last comment posted into a thread ...

But you wouldn't go to the last comment. You would go to the first Unread post for you. It would be different for each person opening a thread.

It might be the first post if you haven't been in the thread before, or it might be the tenth post if you've already seen the first nine.

    Usually this is cookie based.

  5. I did understand what you meant but you did not understand what I meant. I want to read threads from the top down so I know exactly what's going on in the entire thread.
