   After seeking info on the subject via the search box (alot of the threads were closed) have came up with nothing, I would like some info on moving to another server because eventually i'de like switch our WordPress hosted blog to a different server where we would have more control over it flash...etc Any of you recently moved to another server? if so how was the move especially from a not-so-tech-savvy pov. Please include helpful links and pros vs cons regarding it would be greatly appreciated. Currently I have hosting ( dont know a thing about any of its databases, MYSQL or whatever its all called.

   Any of you recently moved to another server? if so how was the move especially from a not-so-tech-savvy pov.

   If you are not tech savvy do not make this move. When you self host your are responsible for everything including continual upgrades and updates of wordpress.org versions and plugins and dealing with your web host, but most of all - you must be able to "fix" things if and when they go wrong.

   Also if and when they do go wrong if you think you can post a thread at wordpress.org support and l get thorough answers in language a newbie to self hosting can understand and get them quickly like you do here - think again.

   As one could imagine the move or having it moved in our case probably will prove problematic at least, already have domain name, but not mapping though. Thanks as always for offering some suggestions and info TT, now ill have to find out are can we at least link our blog to our "other" site pehaps as a connection to a page named 'blog' as ive seen on other sites?
