   Hello. I have started using WordPress recently and selected French (Canada) as my language. Since there is a lot of untranslated text, I decided to contribute.

   I also noted that many terms are following the French (France) spelling instead of the Québec spelling. I did try to suggest changes in the translation tool but the moderator changed them all back to the original (France) spelling.

   Two examples:
   -- "blog" in Canada is translated as "blogue", not as "blog".
   -- "e-mail" in Canada is translated as "courriel", not as "email" or "e-mail".

   See the following site: "http://www.granddictionnaire.com" which is our reference. It is important for us in Québec.

   I am not sure how it works to resolve this. Maybe the moderator is from France and is not aware of these differences. Can we do something?

   Please be patient while waiting for a response from Staff. (If you would like to volunteer to assist other members who voluntarily work on Translating WordPress I'm sure you would be welcomed.)

   I have actually started doing it using GlotPress. This is how I have seen some of my suggestions changed.

   The only problem I have seen so far (other than the above) is that there is no way to change a single word across many text strings. Other than that I will certainly contribute more.

   Je vais rétablir vos propositions, et supprimer mes propres e-mail et blog.
   Oui, j'ai pris cet engagement pour valider de vieux segments
   qui croupissaient au fond de la cuve depuis des lustres,
   mais votre langue n'est pas le français que je pratique, c'est évident.
   J'ai pensé harmonie, pas du tout disparité. Pardonnez cette erreur.
   Je propose de vous passer la main, qu'en dites-vous?

   Je ne souhaitais pas vous évincer! Vous avez fait du très bon travail. Je soulignais seulement les petites particularités "régionales". Ceci étant dit, je peux aussi prendre le relais avec plaisir si vous le souhaitez.

   I did not want to kick you out! You have done very good work. I only wanted to mention some region-specific terms. That said, I would be happy to continue your work if you wish so.

   How does it work for me to become a validator? Where is the blog that you mention above?

   J'ai trouvé le validateur parfait, qui connait la maison comme sa poche, tous les rouages de l'outil, et les difficultés des balises. Vous serez comme un coq en pâte. Canadien, bien entendu, très actif sur WordPress.com, et présent tous les jours. Ça vous convient?

   Concernant les rouages... je ne connais rien de l'outil de validation que vous utilisez... Mais j'imagine que je le verrai bien assez vite...

   Ça me convient.

    Une personne qui a des années d'ancienneté, une dévotion à la cause qui n'est plus à démontrer, et la pratique requise en tous les domaines -et je regrette de n'y avoir songé plus tôt- est le candidat idéal. Votre inscription est des plus récente, et puisque le choix se présente, chose que j'ignorais avant d'aller aux renseignements, vous-même et toute votre communauté y trouverez satisfaction. Et c'est bien de cela qu'il s'agit en la question. J'apporte moi-même chaque jour, de diverses manières, ma contribution au bien-être des membres de France et de Navarre, sans jamais tirer la couverture à moi. Vous aurez vous aussi mille opportunités d'apporter votre pierre à l'édifice, c'est l'essence même de cette plateforme. Pardonnez svp cet imbroglio. Bonne continuation.
