Frontpage appearance of posts

  1. Will WordPress.com be adding things like Tweets, Like and Ratings to the frontpage of a blog? You can see the full post which means that people don't always click through to get the other goodies that help promote a specific posts. Or, it would be nice to truncate (summarise) a new post so they have to click through to the full text.

The blog I need help with is colafactory.wordpress.com.

  2. The blog linked to your wordpress.COM username is a typepad blog and I'm asking you to replace that link please with the URL to your wordpress.COM blog. This is a peer support forum and it's an inconvenience and a time suck to Volunteers answering questions to be clicking into sites that are not wordpress.COM blogs. So thanks, in advance, for replacing the link. :)

Setting that aside, please take note that Volunteers answering support questions have no advance notice of which features wordpress.com Staff may or are introducing.

    1. Spitting content
There are several ways of splitting content on wordpress.COM blogs. You will find them all on this support documentation page http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/ The most commonly used method is inserting "the more tag" into posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

    2. Tweet button
There is a Tweet button we can use on the end of our posts if we wish.
    http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/08/12/new-tweet-button/

    3. Like button
There is a "like" button that appears on the navigation bar when a full post is displayed on its own page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/

    4. Reblog feature
There is also a "reblog" feature. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/06/01/we-all-like-to-reblog/

    5. We can also set up ratings on blog posts, pages, and comments.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ratings/

I expect my readers to click through to view and read the entire post on its own page before they rate, tweet, like, reblog or do whatever to promote my posts so your first 2 sentences confuse me.

I hope I have provided the answers to your questions and best wishes with your wordpress.COM blog. :)
