How do I make may home/front page full width in the Origins Themes. I am able make other pages full width, but not my home/front blog page. Thank you.

The blog I need help with is billmckelvey.com.

  2. Please read this first http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ so you know that Pages and Posts are not the same.

    Full Width Page Template
Is that sidebar cramping your style? Give your content some room to breathe by setting individual pages to the Full Width page template included with Origin.

  3. The term template applies to static pages only and is selected the Page Attributes module of the page editor. Appearance > Theme Options.

If you cannot locate the Page Attributes and template there go to screen options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right hand corner of your Admin page, and be sure to select and include the Pages Module.

Thanks for the clarification re the difference between pages vs. posts. The description of the Origins theme does not mention anything about full width posts, only pages.

On a related note, do you know why my post pictures won't display without clicking on the post title?

  5. Hello there,
Please read the theme description here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/origin/
The Origin theme is behaving exactly the way it is designed to behave, which is excerpts only on the front page of the blog. Origin does have an active excerpt box below the post editor., so you can control the length of the excerpt displayed. This is the workaround you can use to override excerpt display on the front page. You compose your whole post first and before you publish it you switch to the HTML editor, copy the code, paste it into the Excerpt box, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts This will have to be done on every post.
