Fundraiser tracker widget

  1. I must be stupid. In the plug-in directory, I'm told to "Upload Donation Goals to your WordPress-powered blog. After you have installed and activated this plug-in... "

I don't even know what any of that means.

How do I upload a widget to my WP blog?
How do I install and activate a plug in?

I downloaded this plug in widget to my hard drive and there it sits... No clue how to make it go into my blog. Yes, I'm over 40. ;>) LOL Does anyone mind explaining this to me in step-by-step instructions, as if I'm only about 3 years old?

The blog I need help with is incredibleshrinkingjodi.wordpress.com.

A WordPress powered blog is a WordPress.org install for self hosting. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins. They are only for WordPress.org installs.

I'm not aware of such tracking widget that we can use on WordPress.com blogs as we cannot use widgets with dynamic code like Javascript widgets. The software strips the code out to maintain scecurity as this is a multiuser blogging platform.
