I want to load multiple images on a page that will link directly to the post relating to that image. I have put a single image into a gallery so I can then link to the post, but all it is doing is giving me a larger version of the image - am I missing something?

No, that's how the Gallery function works. You're going to have to do this manually, inserting and linking the images one by one as thumbnails.
Thanks raincoaster - I actually tried doing that first, but I couldn't manage to add more than one image. As you can tell I'm new to wordpress and blogging and trying to make sense of it all LOL I'd like to also have a "you might like this article" with a small pic and link at the bottom of each post - is that done by widgets?
