Gallery Function in Traction

  1. I love the Traction theme but have a question about the use of Gallery. With Enterprise theme I can set the pics to open in a themed page without the side bar allowing large photos to be used. With the Traction theme preview, the pics open on a page with the sidebar meaning pics over 600 pixels wide are distorted due to an incorrect aspect ratio.

Are there any Traction users that are aware of any other settings or is 600 pixels the maximum photo width that can be used.

The blog I need help with is autoandracingnews.wordpress.com.

You probably need to post this in the premium theme support forum which gives you access to the theme designer and the theme team. The volunteers here in the main forums do not have access to any of the premium themes so we have virtually no knowledge of them.

  3. I haven't purchased the theme yet so I wasn't sure if I should post there.
    Thanks for the link.

  4. Ahhh. If you have not yet purchased, then you will not be able to post there, so we will have to wait and hope someone from the theme team sees this thread and will respond.

  5. I didn't want to purchase it until I had that cleared up or I may be looking at having to re-size many photos. Everything I have linked to thumbnails are 800+ pixels wide.

  6. Do the figures at the bottom of the theme's page help you at all? http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/traction/

Unfortunately, it seems that there is no example of a Gallery post on the demo site.

  7. Yes they do help in that they tell me everything will be fine if the photos open full width without the sidebar. The dimensions are very similar to Enterprise which we're using now. Slightly narrower but still OK.

I don't want to eliminate the sidebar entirely.

  8. We cannot help you on this forum. Your theme is a premium theme and we Volunteers answering questions on this forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. Posting to this forum is not likely to be productive. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer. You will have to get help in the Premium Themes Forum as others have already told you.

  9. Oops! I'm sorry I did not read this whole thread carefully. I now see that you have not purchased the theme. I suggest that you contact Staff. After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

  10. jwane-you've answered your question yourself when you said that you don't want to get rid of the sidebar and I've also just previewed my Gallery Demo blog in Traction. The attachment pages include the sidebar and are not full width, as in some other themes. Therefore, your photos will have to be resized to the max allowed with for the content.

Regardless, if you really have your heart set on Traction, I'd still recommend contacting Staff because of the messed up aspect ratio. Another thing I noticed is that there are no "previous" and "next" buttons for easy navigation between Gallery attachment pages. Just FYI

  11. @jwane This has been on the list of fixes for Traction for a while, and it was fixed today (good timing!). The image page doesn't drop the sidebar, but the aspect ratio is fixed now. And next/prev navigation was added, also.

  12. Wow, Lance - so it has been fixed! My Pictures of Australia page looks so much better now!

  13. If you have follow-up questions on Traction, please bring it up in the premium themes forum so the theme authors can answer you directly.
