   Hi there,

   Just wondering if there are there any fellow gardeners out there who might enjoy my observations, how to guides and recipes. I took a year off to spend every day in my garden and write about the things that are happening at different times throughout the year. I'm building a library of how to guides to demystify some of seemingly difficult garden activities like collecting carrot seed or getting new plants for nothing. I grow lots of vegetables and I want to make it easier for others to get out there and have a go themselves. As I love to experiment with the food that comes out of our garden I often share my successful recipes too.

   I like to think that there is something here for everyone so I hope you enjoy wether you have green thumbs or not.

   Hello there,
   I am in Canada and I'm into container gardening. After years of in ground gardening my body said "stop" and I finally did. You are off to a great start. Your blog looks great. :)

   Hi there,

   Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Thank you for directing me to your personal blog. I particularly enjoyed reading about the essential oils. I love aromatherapy. I clean my house with various natural recipes including essential oils and I have to say that it really makes a difference.

   I thought I'd share with you my favourite all purpose cleaner. I use it for everything: cleaning the handles, washing the doors, getting scuff marks off the walls, everything.

   All Purpose Cleaner:
   2 cups hot water
   1 cup white vinegar (cheap vinegar is fine but, be careful with the really cheap stuff as they do water it down)
   1 tablespoon of liquid soap (dishwashing liquid is fine - sulphate-free is best)
   5 drops of orange
   5 drops of bergamot
   5 drops of lime

   Put all ingredients into a small tub and mix really well. If you have an oil solubiliser you can combine the oils first and add 1 drop of solubiliser for every drop of oil (15 in this case). Then slowly add the water, vinegar and soap. Any citrus oil would be fine for instance, last week I'd run out of lime oil so I used 5 drops of mandarin oil, 5 bergamot oil, 2 drops of lemon oil and 3 drops of grapefruit oil.

   I find that I can make this mix go around the whole house if I have my cleaning mix in one tub and in another tub I have just clean hot water. I wet the cloth in the cleaning mix and when the cloth needs rinsing I use the hot water so that only the plain water gets soiled.
