   I'm thinking about getting a new domain name. What I'd like to do (ideally) is keep the old domain with its content intact, then copy the old domain content to the new domain and carry on blogging from there. This would ease the transition to the new name, and retain a permanent space for the old name (so people can still find it later if needed - then be directed to the new).

   Is this possible? I know when I moved from blogspot to wordpress, I could bring all my old blogspot content over here, so I'm hoping that this might still doable.

   The blog I need help with is falltoclimb.wordpress.com.

   If the content is already in a blog on a .wordpress.com sub-domain and you wish to have the blog remain here on free hosting on the WordPress.com platform then you don't need to move any content at all. You purchase a domain name and domain mapping. The reason we purchase domain mapping is so any visitor clicking on an old URL to our content is seamlessly directed to the same content under the domain URL.
