getting an HTML code to stay put

  1. I seem to be having trouble getting an HTML code to stay put.

That is, I enter the code in the HTML editor, update the post and view it. It's fine.

However, when I return to the blog at a later time the code is longer present.

    The particular code is:

    [div style="height:1.4em;visibility:hidden;"] [/div] ...but changing [ and ] for < and >.

Thank you for any insights into fixing this problem.

  2. I'm seeing the code in your page source now, but where's the text that should go between those tags?

  3. "Told you about that here:"

This is an example of what is termed sub-standard English. The element lacking in what would be a simple declarative sentence is the subject pronoun "I."

    ex.:

"I told you about that here."

Or, to add an imperious tone--as befits, e.g., techno-facsists--"I, Panos, told you about that."

    So much for your "Engrish."

And, yes, raincoaster, I did post the question here in good faith, it having been duly deleted within seconds. That is why I contacted you and sacred path directly. But who the hell am I to be sensitive--right? $150 an hour indeed.

Pardon the intrusion and my lapse of lèse majesté...

    Thank you.

  4. //after two weeks since your original post and this one, I feel like I've missed something along the way, but please don't feel compelled to expound upon it.

Just to remind you, this is a user-to-user forum mostly populated by volunteers who are your fellow WordPress.com users, many of whom are not native English speakers. If use of proper text-book English is a prerequisite to assist you with your queries, sadly the majority of us will fail. In lieu of that the Support Docs are at your disposal. http://en.support.wordpress.com/

    Cheers!

  5. 4854derrida has posted in 25 threads so far. I helped him/her with eleven of them. And suddenly s/he’s got issues with my “sub-standard” English…

This is an example of a sub-standard personality.
