Getting Email and Name Fields to Appear on Comments

  1. I am using Motion theme. When I go to my site like an outsider and click on Comments. I never see a field in
which to enter name and email and yet I have the appropriate boxes checked in Discussions. At least I think I do. Maybe Motion won't allow this. What's the story?.

Secondly, yes, I have a ,com site, but I also have Go Daddy hosting it. How this happened I am not quite sure, but I sure am confused as usual. I have read the descriptions of how .org and and .com are different but I am
very dense. I am getting very frustrated, like never before. When I read help articles, no one ever clarifies whether they are talking about com or org. For example, I started to upgrade and downloaded the zip file, but it occurred to me that I don't have any worpress files in my computer --- so I ceased the operation before I screwed up something.. What am I upgrading? Should Go-Daddy be doing it or when I unzip am I actually upgrading my files at Go Daddy? Terribly confused. I want to get on with blgging. Thanks for patience.

  3. http://www.thetortoisefactor.com is my link.

Wow, it gets worse. I have always gotten good support information from this location. Now, you tell me I am a .org site, but I swear I have never downloaded the software.

  4. It's not a question of "downloading the software", but rather "using it".

If you don't believe the supportbot when it says you are using the self-hosted version of WordPress, please:
    - look at the footer of your blog. Instead of saying "Blog at WordPress.com", it says "Powered by WordPress"

  5. Okay, I'm a believer. I guess I "graduated' without knowing it. Thus, I guess I'm ready for more complicated learning curve. I wasn't ready, but what the heck. I am reassured that my site is working. Thanks. Well, aside from voluminous traffic which is my responsibility. But, I still don't understand why my blog doesn't ask for an email and name when I click on Comment. Do I go to WordPress.org for the support on this?

I surely appreciate your time and answer,

At Go Daddy or where? Do I go to WordPress.org for the support on this? It's all a matter of knowing what I don't know and today has been one big learning day.

I surely appreciate your time and answer,
