   I just put up a post,

   and I would like to see white space between the bottom of the image, and the caption. For the caption I used "heading4" .

   I inserted 4 "br" tags between the image and the caption. At other times that does give me a separation but not this time.

   (I use MarsEdit offline editor for my posts because I am a Mac user and WP's visual editor did not work well for me. In the MarsEdit preview I do have the desired white space.)

   You're using a blockquote inside h4, which isn't something you should do in HTML.
