.gif files not working?

  1. I've uploaded several .gif files onto my blog, but they don't seem to be working properly. Is it just me who can't see them? If not, does anybody know how to fix that?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The blog I need help with is andsmilestogobeforeiweep.wordpress.com.

  2. Are they animated gifs? If so, they have to be uploaded and inserted at a size that does not require that the wordpress software resizes them. If resizing happens then the animation is lost.

You will either have to resize them prior to uploading (if they are larger than what you theme allows, or if they aren't, make sure and insert them "full-sized".

  3. Oh, I see. How can I find out at what size they should be? Is there just one universal size for all posts, or does it vary with the theme?

    Thank you for your help!

  4. Take a look at this post by Panos which lists the maximum widths for the bulk of the themes here.

  5. I'm having the same problem; however, my gifs are not animated and i'm uploading them at full size. The blog I need help with is alexabryn.wordpress.com.

  6. @abd329, can you point us at a location where the image is not showing up so that we can take a look?

  7. Define "not working properly" in this context. If they're not animated, what, exactly, is failing?

  8. The gif's I've been trying to upload have been well within the size limits - however, when I attempt to upload, the direct link code doesn't register with a check mark (when I do it under video), and I end up with a link instead.
