   I've just started using my blog here and I LOVE It. At the moment, being a novice, I am not paying for any of the premium features but I am sure I will do when I've found my way around enough.

   I have a birthday coming up and I would suggest to my family that they buy me some credits for the site so that I can really go mad and bling up my blog!!!

   I can't believe I'm the first person ever to suggest this but I can't find any other posts that ask the same question.....

   What do you think? I'm sure there'd be a demand!!!

   I think there is a way for someone to "gift" an upgrade to someone, but can't remember how it is done.

   I will flag this thread for the Staff attention and see if one of them can explain if there is a secret handshake.

   We don't offer a way to do that at this time, but we do accept payment via PayPal, so if the intended recipient has a PayPal account, you could send the necessary funds to them.

   Ok, maybe something you can think of for the future though - I bet I am not the only one who would appreciate a WordPress voucher for my birthday! :)

   You could place a a PayPal donation link in your sidebar. That wouldn't let people credit your blog per se, but it would let them send donations directly to your PayPal account if you have one.

   AFAIK that isn't against the WordPress.com TOS, but I could be wrong.

   Donations are not against the rules here, but they're DAMNED inefficient, I can tell you.

   I know for a fact somebody here gifted me the CSS upgrade about two years ago, so it must be possible.

   Not everyone has a PayPal account and as @raincoaster noted - creating an account because someone MIGHT donate is not very efficient and a lot of work for something that might never happen or only be a few dollars.

   I don't think I'd like to put a Paypal link on here, I'd just as soon ask my family for some money so I can buy an upgrade but I still think it's a good idea for the site to have a gift voucher scheme, both as a way to generate income and to publicize WordPress....

   I'm in the wrong job aren't I? ha ha
