   I really, really, really dislike the automatic popup sidebar that appears when I post.

   Apparently WordPress thinks that it may decide and promulgate "goals" for me. How arrogant and offensive, WordPress!

   What happened to individuality? What happened to self-determination? What happened to free will? (No, Sam Harris, free will is not an illusion. Post pending.)

   What happened to not being nagged to post by people and machines you don't know?

   I wish to disable this sidebar.

   How can I?

   I think you might be referring to "get instant feedback" and if so you can disable it. > Dashboard > Users > Personal Settings http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/get-instant-feedback-when-you-publish/

   I agree with cathicarolblog. I'm more concerned with trying to write quality posts and not so much with quantity.

   (I was trying to be kind of funny about it but I wouldn't have been so exercised if I had know I could have disabled it. As the sidebar just appeared one day after a posting I thought it was thrust on us without options.)

   I love WordPress!
