going from free to self hosted with an existing domain name

Right now I have a free wordpress.com blog. I also own a domain name through godaddy.com.

I would like to move my blog to self-hosting through godaddy using my existing domain name so I can use my domain name AND add advertising options. Can anyone tell me the best way to accomplish this? I don't just want to point my domain name to my existing blog, I actually want to change to a .org blog or whatever is necessary to be able to add content for profit.

The blog I need help with is coffeenutdesigns.wordpress.com.

  2. You would go into the domain management at godaddy and point the domain dns nameservers back at godaddy (they can provide you with the nameserver information). It will take about 24 hours or so for that change to take effect, and possibly a little longer. During that time, you should be able to install and configure the wordpress software on your account there using a temporary IP address they can give you.

During that time, you can also export your content from here and import it into your new wordpress installation.
