Google Analytics Tracking with WordPress Hosted Account

  1. How do I add GA tracking to my blog which is hosted on WordPress? Since I can't install plugins I'm not sure how I can get tracking installed.

    Thank you,

    Devin

The blog I need help with is devwired.com.

  2. For a lot of reasons WordPress does not allow Google Analytics on its free blogs... if you're looking for numbers, you can get WP friendly accounts here:

  3. I have upgraded - not sure about free blogs. However, I just went into dashboard > tools and copied the meta key content string from Google analytics to the provided area within tools - "Webmaster Tools Verification". It was very simple - once I figured out where to add the meta tag content!

  4. There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that will allow you to run Google analytics on your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info
