google maps and multiple image gallery's

    Hi,

    I'm a reasonably newbie to WordPress and wondered if you could point me in the right direction with the below...

    I want to add 2 features on my WordPress site and would like to know the best widgets to use for the best results.

    1) google maps - I want to pin point where I currently am every few days and also record where i've been with custom drop pins. What would be the best solution for this?

    2) I want to have a page where I have columns (3) of multiple image gallery's to select from once you select one you get a large view of all photos in that gallery with pagination and the ability to add comments to each photo just like a blog post. Any ideas on the best widget for this?

    Please add a link for your site.

    You can place custom maps from Google Maps in your posts. If you need help with custom maps on Google Maps contact me through my site and I would be glad to help.

    As for the other issue you would have to be a little more clear, as I have no idea what you want.

    With regard to your suggestion here (a tip for you, one volunteer to another in this forum):

    It is best to keep forum help-information to the forum. Replying by email or private message is:
    first (email) not a good idea for the questioner to post his email publicly,
    and the second, (via answering on your own site) it is best to provide answers publicly so folk who don't actually post questions but read the forums to learn by seeing your proposed solutions. Also, if your answer is inadequate, then other forum volunteers can step in to expand on, or correct you your proposed solution.

    If you want to contact a poster-with-a-question, then you can do it by making a comment on their blog.

    1. I think this would be fairly hard to do with plain HTML, as we can't use Javascript or anything. I'll read into it more later.

    2. I think what your wanting is to insert a Media Gallery. Link that page to a page with another gallery with pictures? Could you explain more?

    It is useless (or a waste of time, if the op does not have a wp.COM blog) to speculate on an answer without a link to the blog in question!!
