Google Translate plugin

  1. Hi,

Can I place the Google Translate plugin in my blog? to allow translation of my posts in other languages?
As I have read om google translate I need to copy/paste a kind of code onto every page you want to translate, but I don't know how to do this.

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is alinademeter.ro.

  2. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot upload plugins. There are two wrokarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/

  3. You can do it without a widget! -- Use html.

  4. Using conradcook's suggestion, I put up a translate link at: https://benjohnstoncomposer.wordpress.com/

    Seems to be working fine.

I see that timethief's method creates a separate translation page that allows one to choose the language to which to translate, which seems cool. But I also like the auto-detect function and the impression of keeping everything on the original page instead of bouncing to a new page via the menu, which is why I followed conradcook's lead and put the translate link within the post. This means that I have to repeat the process for every new post, as I currently understand it, but that's fine.
