gravatar widget problems

  1. Hi, I have 3 problems with the widget:
    (1) there is an unwelcome border on one side of my photo, when it is aligned to right or left
    (2) the text is not aligned with the top of my photo, when the photo is aligned to right/left
    (3) I want clicking on the image to move readers to a particular page not to my gravatar profile.

Is there anything you ca do about it?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is bezego.com.

  2. Hi there -

I want clicking on the image to move readers to a particular page not to my gravatar profile.

Try putting the URL for that page in the "Gravatar link" field in the widget.

For the other issues you describe, can you please put the widget back in your sidebar and reply so I can take a look? Thanks!

  3. Yes. This is what I did. Still when I touch the image with a cursor a link to gravatar profile comes up after a split second. The reader has only this split second to click on the image and get to the page on my blog not to the gravatar profile.

The best way would be to have a widget combining image and text instead of gravatar. Is it possible at all?

I will let you know once I put the gravatar widget on the page so we can work out the other two issues.

  4. Hi there -

Sure! You can just use a Text Widget or an Image Widget. Give that a try and let me know how it works for you! :)

  5. unfortunately I have no idea how to align the image to the left/right of the text widget to make it look like a gravatar image. Is it possible at all?

This is what I need: a gravatar looking widget with an image aligned to the side with text next to it and no link to my gravatar profile. I will appreaciate any suggestions.

    thank you!

  6. Hi there,

The link to your Gravatar profile that pops up when you use the Gravatar widget is called a Gravatar Hovercard. You can turn off Hovercards by going to Settings > Discussion in your dashboard. Scroll down to the Avatar section, and you’ll see a checkbox for Gravatar Hovercards. Unchecking this box will disable hovercards on your blog, so users can click on your Gravatar to go to the other link you set in the widget.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this! If you can add the Gravatar widget back on your blog, I'd be happy to take a look and help with the other issues you mentioned in your first post, as well.
