well, the only idea i have is that the spambots are following links, haha. i have one post where i received hundreds of spam until i turned comments off, and it was linked from the wordpress blog. another one which i turned comments off is the 7 things to know before posting in wp.com forums (the sticky). i recently updated it to include a link to engtech's post, where i guestblogged. and he did have the possibly related links turned on but the css 'version'.

I have had a few Nazi types show up at my blog too, although their threats of violence were toward an un-named person.
I think I was supposed to connect the dots.
Sigh. Also, I have no spam incoming, and I have disabled the "related links" feature.

It's like it's rascism day or something. It's very weird, but I'm noticing it not only here and in the forums, but also over at some UK websites. They're all freaked out today because they've got a couple of million Muslims in England. Like, they just noticed this or something.

It's a bug, so NATURALLY it's on your blog. Change your blog language to something else, then change it back. That will fix it.

They ARE getting touchy, aren't they? From what I understand about the way Adsense pays, it would be the priciest upgrade, and probably drive people to independent hosting. That's if they wanted to conserve revenues. And I do NOT see them doing anything to hurt revenues until they've closed more funding, which I think a lot of the changes coming down the pipe are designed to court.

I guess that answers the question I wanted to ask--how much would X number of people need to pay to equal the adsense revenue they make now.

That's nasty. I bet it was Louseguy. He's probably a white supremacist, too. Lousy people always are.
My thinking is, if the average blog brings in ten bucks per month in Adsense, which seems not unreasonable, the upgrade would cost $120 per year. At that rate, people would leave in droves and use other platforms. Even the IDEA of a cost like that for no adsense when other platforms offer that for free would cause them to flee.

5:31 in the morning and finally my work is done. But YAY it looks like my classes are going to fill up at least halfway, which means I should be able to get my laptop fixed and stop having to take fifteen minutes out of every half hour to wait while my computer crashes, then restarts twice. Will save So. Much. Time!

i'm so pissed. i just edited one text widget and all my widgets vanished after saving it!!! and staff can't even do anything about it. >:( luckily i left a page opened with all my sidebar content, and am able to recover most of it, but still... be careful when editing your sidebar, people.
