Guided transfer - does it include transferring images

    Guided transfer - does it include transferring images or not?

    It should as long as they are attached to Posts or Pages - don't know if they also transfer unattached images in your media library - you would need to ask the staff if extra images (and other files are also transferred) - I will flag this for the staff to help you

    thanks - i actually just tried this myself using the import function but am getting the following error http://screencast.com/t/pPjSkFSF

    if anyone has any clues why that might be it would be appreciated :)

    If you were importing to a WordPress.ORG install then you should ask over at WordPress.ORG about the import - they are the keepers of the software you will be using - you will need to open a new forum account there to post as the forums are not connected

    don't know if they also transfer unattached images in your media library

    I'll look into confirming this, and I'll update in this forum thread when I find out.

    Confirmed: unattached images are included in the Guided Transfer.

    Thanks thats handy to know but I don't actually think it will work for me as I wanted it moved to my own host not one of the partner hosts

    @peteholliday: You're welcome.

    Our best suggestion since you're dealing with a self–hosted (WordPress.org) install is to see if anyone in the WordPress.org support forums — or your host — has any other suggestions.
