I'm asking here because it tends to take a long time to email support and you all are lightning quick. :)
Briefly: I moved from Blogger last month, had my domain nameservers directed here so my blog is http://basiasbookshelf.com now (I'm on WordPress.com) and now my needs have exceeded WP.com and I'm going to have to move to a host and .org. I want to use the Guided Transfer option and just want to make sure I understand some stuff before I start the process (because I really screwed up my move from Blogger by not understanding basic stuff, d'oh!).
I spent ages getting my premium template tweaked with CSS the way I wanted it - when I have it transferred, I can get it moved the way it is, right?
Will my Dashboard and creating new posts look mostly the same? I can generally work things out but my contributor has some issues with figuring out this stuff and I'll need to warn her and walk her through things if there's going to be a big change.
Am I going to need to do any special uploading from now on beyond what I'm doing now? Like, FTP sorts of stuff, assuming I don't make changes to the template. Are plug-ins and widgets controlled that way?
I'm sorry if these are way too many questions that could be answered somewhere else - I've done a bunch of searches and looked in some different support pages and while there are some general answers to Guided Support, I can't find anything that answers to those specific questions and I'm nervous after my transfer debacle.
