I was confused when I chose my blog name, and I hate it! My "Wordpress for Dummies" book says I can't change the blog name. Can I start a new one with the name I want, and hide the old one? I also bought a domain name, so need the new title to appear at that URL. Thanks for any help you can give.

Actually, your book is a bit out of date. You can change your blog's address following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
FWIW http://combsorme.wordpress.com/ is correctly redirecting to http://ormebook.com/ for me. I am in Canada.
I did not make myself clear--sorry. I do not want it to say "combsorme blog" across the top. I want to change that name somehow. Any ideas? Thanks!!!
Easy. Go to your Dashboard, then Settings->General. That is where you change it.
Easy. Go to Dashboard, ----> My Blogs, ----> press the column of Address, ---> Change Blog Address. That is where you change it.
That's not what he's talking about. He wants to change the displayed name, not the URL
