Having trouble uploading photos

macmanx I've just checked the box you mention and have uploaded two photos successfully. Thank you!

  2. Excellent, thanks for confirming!

  3. I checked the box and tried to access my photos to edit and all that came up was a box. I can see the photos until I press the edit button and then a box appears--like it didn't load right. But even photos that I uploaded with no problem months ago are showing up as boxes when I try to access them for editing.

  4. I checked the same box, didn't work. :(

  5. What format of image are you uploading?

  6. JPEG is this what you mean? I've been using this for a little over a year now without any problem.....

  7. I apologize for posting in the other thread. It was suggested by one of the volunteers to do so.

  8. Can you please tell us which browser (and version of) you're using?

  9. it's Internet Explorer on both computers I've tried--not sure which version. The one at home was just bought less than a year ago, so I would assume it's a rather new version.

  10. You can determine the version of the browser by clicking this link > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

  11. Mozilla/4.0
    compatible
    MSIE
    8.0

  12. Are you able to upgrade to IE 9? It's a much better browser.

If not, would you please try a different browser, like Firefox or Chrome?

  13. I'm at work and I was just able to try accessing my photos on a 3rd computer--I was able to get into the pictures and use the rotate command, but they would't crop. And that computer has Internet Explorer 6. So, it's sort of working on the computer with IE 6, but not on the computer that has IE 7.

  14. And that computer has Internet Explorer 6. So, it's sort of working on the computer with IE 6, but not on the computer that has IE 7.

Microsoft no longersupports IE6 which is well known as the most prblematic browser there is. WordPress.com doesn't support IE^ or IE& any longer and hasn't for some time noe. Scroll down on this psge > http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/just-write/

I suggest that you download use Firefox as it's reliable. http://browsehappy.com/

  15. oops! My caps were locked and I meant to type IE6 and IE7 above.

  16. I just downloded firefox and everything seems to be working better now. Thanks for the help!

  17. You're welcome!

  18. We've tried and done everything asked and it still won't work for us. We've changed the name of a photo and shrunk it to less than 500kb and the percentage rises more quickly, but it's still in an eternal state of crunching. You can see a previous post where we listed the browser. We also tried IE9 after that with the same failed results. We are able to upload to other sites so it's not an internet speed issue. We'd appreciate any additional advice.

  19. i have the same problem in locale server

  20. meltingmnm, just to be sure, did you try enabling HTTPS at Users -> Personal Settings?

annoncesaumaroc, if you're having the issue on a local server, that's a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, not a WordPress.com blog, and we can't help with that.

  21. yes...we set that a few days ago...still doesn't work for us..

  22. You have access to another location with a different ISP that you could check from, like a friend's house, work, café, etc?

  23. Unfortunately, where we live our ISP is the only option available. If that's the issue, any idea why this hasn't been an issue for years and is now? [thanks for the help].

  24. We haven't made any recent changes on our end that would affect photo uploading, but that doesn't mean that something has change on your end, or your ISP's.

    Who is your ISP?

  25. we live in Africa and our ISP is state owned

  26. That could be an issue. Are you in a rural or densely populated area? Also, do you have issues with any other sites?

  27. And me, too. Neither loader will function long. I also keep getting a 'server reset, try again later, etc.' message. The upload indicator turns haltingly and very slowly then the message or just the 'crunching.'

Using latest Firefox 12(?), IE9; photo under 1G, ISP NetZero (please, no laughing) with dial up. Note that I haven't had this problem before, just recently. The only changes I made was to upgrade Firefox.

Cache, cookies, all cleared. I already have HTTPS checked. Very frustrating as I chose a nice picture centric theme and can't post any. I haven't officially published the blog yet, hoping to straighten this out first!

  28. We live in a rural town. There are not a lot of people on the internet here. We are not having trouble with any other sites. We have been able to upload photos and videos to our FTP server and access all the pages we've ever been able to access here.

  29. What you might want to do is try using an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer. It's a long shot, but that might somehow route around this.

  30. Well I still keep getting 10 error inbetween uploads, so far it has taken me 30 minutes to upload four images, absolute rubbish!!
