Header and image help, please.

  1. I've upgraded to the CSS option and have had pretty good luck altering things to the way I like. However, I can't seem to figure out how to insert the image I previously had in the header. It displays the image when I go to alter the header, but it seems that the CSS stylesheet is not allowing me to have it. Also, is there a way to allow my images to be larger than they are? I appreciate any and all assistance.

  2. First see if you can get rid of those snap shots....ahaha...Not sure about the image size...let me see

  3. I don't see where you have put the image into your CSS.

  4. I was thinking that maybe you added the header as a custom header so thats why it isn't showing up. try adding this to your css and add the headers url where you see the "url here". I don't know if it will work, I just got the idea from here, http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/custom-header-not-working-2?replies=3#post-290790

    #masthead {
    width:1000px!important;
    height:236px!important;
    background: #000 url('url here and include the http:// part') top left no-repeat !important;
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }
  5. Thank you all very much. I am not really well versed in CSS at all so this is all a bit confusing to me. You are right, it was added as a custom header instead of in CSS. Forgive my again for my ignorance, but where do I find the header url?

  6. upload your header into the media library, then obtain the url and insert the url as I said above

  7. That worked! Thanks a whole lot :D
    Now I just need to figure out how to get one to fit the new width that I changed the template to. Since I had uploaded the header image prior to customizing CSS, the crop of the image is at the default of the template's original measurements. Phew! I'm sure I'll get it. Many thanks!

  8. Your Welcome
    and remember that the width and height of the image should be of the image should be
    width:1000px
    height:236px
    in order to cover the whole header

  9. I figured as much, however, if I just upload an image that I've resized myself, it will not provide me with a header link. In order to obtain a header url, it seems I have to upload it through my custom header and that is what resizes to the standard size.
