header image cropping

  1. Uploaded header image not showing up as a circle as per Writr theme. The default was a generic gravatar placeholder and it was a circle, but when I tried to change it, it's a square and I tried cropping and not cropping it.

The blog I need help with is jacarrasco.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm seeing http://jacarrasco.wordpress.com/ as using Ambiru as the theme. Have you changed themes or is this regarding a different blog than you listed?

  3. I have 3 blogs. The DADMAN is the one I am referring to. Thanks.

  4. We would need a direct link to the site you need help with, starting with http://

  5. I am not able to upload my complete logo as my gravatar image- it makes me crop it and just shows 1/3 of my logo. It's suppose to be the symbol and "Sovereign Beat" next to it. Please help.

  6. @sovereignbeat-Since Gravatars are square, you'll have to create a separate image especially for it.

  7. jacarrasco,

Do you have a Gravatar image set up?

By default, Writr will display the site owner’s Gravatar in the header. You can change Gravatars by switching the site owner’s email address in Settings → General → Email Address.

If you want to display something other than your Gravatar, as you have done, you can upload a Custom Header Image in Appearance → Header, or you can remove it completely by selecting Remove Header Image.

  8. I do have a Gravitar, but it did not display when I set up the blog. I went the upload new image route and it works, but the image is square, not round like the theme displays. The generic gravitar image that was there when I started the blog was round.

  9. Are there dimensions to make yr gravatar image square and a specific size?

  10. I do have a Gravitar, but it did not display when I set up the blog.

When you log into gravatar with your WordPress.com login info, does it get you to the correct gravatar account? I am concerned that perhaps you ended up with a gravatar account that is not connected to your WordPress.com account. Which would likely cause the issue you are seeing.

  11. For best practices for Gravatar images re: sizing scroll down to right under the video in this post of mine > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/24/gravatar-avatar-blavatar/

  12. @rootjosh
I'm sorry. I did not mean to distract.

    @sovereignbeat
This is what we can see at http://en.gravatar.com/sovereignbeat

We’re sorry, that profile has been deleted.
Perhaps you'd like to log in or sign up for an account?

That's why rootjosh is concerned that perhaps you ended up with a gravatar account that is not connected to your WordPress.com account.

  13. Not a problem Timethief. I'm glad you posted that link. It is a good resource.
