Header Text

  1. I want to replace the header text with a logo (image) with the customer header image below. Do I have to upgrade to do this? If so, which upgrade?
    Blog url: http://masterslm.wordpress.com/

  2. No upgrade is required. You simply create a header image of the correct dimensions 1000 px x 288 px that includes the logo in it and go here > Appearance > Header and upload the image. For more information on how Twenty Eleven is designed see > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/workings-of-duster/

  3. Note that when you are on this page > Appearance > Header you can choose to hide the header text (blog title and tagline).

__ Show header text with your image.

  4. Thanks timethief. I have done this on another blog I administer but I have a client that wants the logo to appear where the text is. The blog she is referring to is http://patnantucketre.com/. Any help you could offer is much appreciated as, obviously, I am new to WordPress.

  5. The site you point to is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. WordPress.com free hosted blogs and WordPress.org self hosted isntalls are not the same. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.com is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and we cannot access the underlying files and edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

If you have CSS editing experience the annually renewable custom design upgrade will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but will not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to WordPress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes at WordPress.COM.

  6. I was thinking it might be a WordPress.org self hosting blog. Thanks for confirming, timethief.
