Headings or sections

  1. Is it possible to have different headings or sections within one blog? I am creating a blog for my students and teach 4 different classes and need to have them all within one blog. Need Help, thanks.

The blog I need help with is ecolint8a.wordpress.com.

  2. You can set a static front page for the site and then use categories for the 4 different classes and then when a student from one class clicks on the category name for that class, they will get all the posts in that particular category.

You can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and put the category names in the top navigation.

  3. Thanks thesacredpath! I now have for categories in a sidebar but they all like to the same posts. What do I do?

  4. ....they all have "uncategorized" as the active link under the non-active class title.

  5. A default category (“uncategorized”) will be assigned to published posts if you don’t specify one. The name of the default category can be changed under Settings > Writing in your dashboard. You can create a category for the name of each student in your dashboard > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-your-dashboard

  6. Open your existing posts in the editor and in the categories module, deselect "uncategorized" and select the appropriate category and then update the post.

  7. when setting up my theme I didn't notice the need to change the subheading, so I still have the generic "just another WordPress blog" I would like to change that but when I go to headings, the only one active is the main heading.

  8. @knitnkwilt: Go to Settings > General > Tagline.

Go here > Settings > General to either remove or change the Tagline. Don't forget to click "save changes" when done.
