    for help in Spanish

  3. may be this should help you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-a-domain/

  4. Can anyone help
I'm trying to map my domain to my wordpress blog.
    It is a .ca name
    I've changed the name servers to ns1.wordpress.com, ns2, ns3
but when i try to map the domain wordpress tells me the domain is registered but not pointing to wordpress

anyone have any ideas on what i can do?

also i changed the A record and put in the wordpress IP addresses, thinking this might help. but it's been 4 hours and still not working.

    can anyone help?
    thanks

  5. @bmssanitation - you need a zone record added for your domain name you are trying to map to your WordPress.COM blog - I will flag this for the staff to add a zone record for you - BUT - you need to post the domain name you have purchased so the staff will know what domain name to add the zone record for.

  6. bmssanitation, what is the exact domain name that you're trying to map?

  7. oh okay
    its bmssanitation.ca

    thanks

  8. I have manually added a zone record for your domain.

You should now be able to map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  9. thanks macmanx,

i'm trying to map it but wordpress keeps telling me the domain is not pointing to wordpress.
    i've changed the name servers to ns1, ns2, ns3.worpress.com
i've added the IP address to the A record,
    but I still can't map.
am i doing something wrong, or is it something with my registrar?

    really appreciate your help
    thanks

  10. Try taking the IP address out of the A Record - you should just point the name servers to WordPress.COM at your registrar - nothing else - no extra changes -

if you are need to have email work with your domain name you will need to use Google Aps or change some MX records at WordPress.COM - the MX record info would come from your email host.

  11. dot ca still not working.
trying to map bmssanitation.ca to bmssanitation.wordpress.com

yes I took out the A record, set the names servers to wordpress, but still couldn't map the domain name.
not sure what to do at this point.
does this sound like its a problem with the registrar or with the zone record?

i tried it with the .com and it worked fine, but would prefer the .ca
    any suggestions or advice?

    thanks

  12. Is there no such creature as "personal" or "on line" support here at WordPress?

  13. @coffeedad
Please simply and clearly state exactly what you need help with. We Volunteers are able to provide support in most cases and when we can't Staff will assist.

  14. But when, where and how does someone contact "staff"?

  15. @coffeedad
We Volunteers know when to contact Staff. Please just state exactly what you need help with.

  16. Through constant suggestions from others over the past few years, I decided to start a WordPress blog. Went to the site, followed the instructions, never got any confirmation and when I try to re-enter my email address associated with the blog that I tried to start, it says that I'm not recognized. Where that heck did all of my information go?

  17. There are two different flavors of "WordPress" and you can read about them and the differences between them here > WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

On this supporr forum we deal only with those who have free hosted WordPress.com blogs. Those who have WordPress.org installs must post to http://wordpress.org/support/ for assistance.

What is the URL starting with http:// of the blog you are referring to
Did you check your email spam filter?
Did you whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client.

  18. b.t.w., the blog title is And A Cup Of Coffee, which still opens at the same point as I left it with my opening comments.

  19. @bmssanitation - it looks like your name servers are not pointing to WordPress.COM but are set to webnames.ca.

  20. This is an active link > http://andacupofcoffee.wordpress.com/ to that same blog linked to your username. Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050 and then logging in by using this link http://andacupofcoffee.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  21. Please slo answer my questions:
Did you check your email spam filter?
Did you whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client.

  22. Mine is still the free hosted blog, as far as I know, because that's the instructions I followed.

"What is the URL starting with http:// of the blog you are referring to"
    andacupofcoffee is all I know

"Did you check your email spam filter?"
    yes

"Did you whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client."
I have NO idea what ANY of that means

  23. auxclass,

    That's Greek to me.

Sorry folks, I'm a "writer" and NOT a computer geek. I don't know even a fraction of what most of you have forgotten years ago, and I really don't want to know a lot of that "stuff".

    I want a free and S I M P L E forum for sharing ideas.

I don't want to take a course, learn an entirely new career or lifestyle, I just want a place to open, write, share and close a blog - because that's what nearly a hundred people have encouraged me to do over the past 4 or 5 years.

What's more, they have ALL told how it's something so simple that a blind dog could do it, which of course is a load of crap. It's only that simple for someone who lives inside their little computer world for everything they do. (which will be the next blog topic if I ever get this thing off the ground)

  24. What does "Theme Wu Wei with 6 Widgets" mean?

  25. auxclass,
sorry I didn't notice your comment was still directed above

  26. timethief,

Yes, I did check my email spam filter.

I don't even know what "whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client."
    means.

  27. Google is your friend > type
how do I whitelist an email address in my email [inset the name of the mail client you use]"
    click "search"
follow the instructions provided in search results to whitelist email from .wordpress.com

  28. Okay . . . . . "mail client" . . . . . ?

  29. I'm sorry but I don't have time to assist you to learn how to use your email client ie, email program or your computer as I'm multi-tasking from work.
