   Good Evening.

   I have started a new business and need to get on the web. WordPress was reccommended to me so i thought id give it a go. I'm a complete novice in this type of field and was wondering if i could use my wordpress site as an online shop aswell as a medium to reach my target audience. I've had a quick look around on the net and youtube and have found some info but im still not 100%

   Your help and advice will be greatfully received.

   While you can sell your work on your blog, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com.

   This link will give you instructions for using a Paypal button on your blog:

   If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality beyond this, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

   What you found on the internet applies to self hosted WordPress.org installs so know this form the outset - WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different.    Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, http://www.wordads.co/ no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com
