   I don't want my spam comments blocked and also what do I get for 18.00 a year with my own domain ?
   I'm a disabled veteran an I have 3 blogs one on WordPress an 2 on Blogspot.com so I do this to maintain my sanity :)

   Apparently. Start here: http://learn.wordpress.com

   Each upgrade here does only exactly what it says it does. With a custom domain, you get a custom domain, not the ability to host ads or embed javascript or anything else. Just the custom domain.
