Help !!

  1. Hi I purchased a genesis & framework and cannot find it on my dashboard in wordpress? I have dowloaded onto my laptop, I have watched endless tutorials no no avail, am I missing something?

The blog I need help with is shanleyletting.wordpress.com.

  2. Yes, on WordPress.com, we cannot use external themes. You can activate any one of the 200+ themes available under Dashboard>Appearance>Themes or in the Theme Showcase.

  3. Thanks Jennifer, however on viewing the tutorial on how to upload your genesis child theme which I have purchased it ststes I had to do it through the dashboard on wordpress??? confused still ??? ;-(((

  4. how to upload your genesis child theme

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here > Appearance > Themes

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install plugins, upload third-party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

There is no upgrade that you can purchase from WordPress.com that provides FTP access and the ability to upload third themes. To use any theme other than the over 200 found here Dashboard > Appearance > themes you will need to hire a web host and set up a self hosted WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  5. P.S. You need to either (1) get a refund for that theme (2) or hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install in order to use the theme you purchased.

  6. Many thanks fo your help I really found his all ambigious, I appriciate your help ...

    Kind Regards

  7. You're welcome.
