Help Badly Needed for a Newbie

    This is the first site I've attempted to build so please excuse absurd, stupid questions.

    I have purchased a domain name and registered for a hosting account. From the cPanel, I installed the WordPress software. It created a site that I can see and sent me an email with a login and password for the back end. However, the login does not work and will not show a dashboard.

    Furthermore, when attempting to access the dashboard, WordPress will not accept my user name and password and when I tried to reset the password, it says I'm not a registered user. Yet when I start directly from wordpress.com I can log in (though it shows nothing in my dashboard concerning the site).'

    Tried searching through the forums for potential answers but nothing seems to work. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    You need to be at WordPress.ORG as your blog isn't hosted here and ours don't work the same way yours does.

    Your site is not on WordPress.COM - you need to make friends at WordPress.ORG see the links and more info above -
