Help deleting old custom header image

  • Hi –
I’ve been playing with my non-profit website, trying to get everything to look just right, and stumbled on the ability to use custom headers. I implemented their use just fine, making sure to have the exact size needed. My problem is this:
I originally uploaded one version of a header, but it didn’t work with the navigation set up below it, so I altered it and uploaded the new version. Now, I would like to delete the old one. I don’t see anywhere to do this? I created a second header and would like to have the header’s display randomly, but can’t do that until the obsolete one is deleted. What am I doing wrong? How do I delete it?
    Thanks so much!

  • Okay, I feel quite silly. After looking around just a bit more I found the Media Library and was able to delete it from there. *head desk* I’ll get the hang of this – I will!

Just saying that there is no automatic random header display feature you can use.

As you are new to WordPress.com I can recommend a comprehensive tutorial. The Learn WordPress.com tutorial is divided into progressive levels and presented as a series: http://learn.wordpress.com/

  • Under the heading options for the new Theme Mystique there is an option to have random headers displayed on different pages. And thank you for the link, I’ve been slowly working through a lot of the material WordPress has available. I just love the functionality of the platform!

  • OOPS! I’m sorry I forgot about that new theme. This is the main link to the support documentation http://en.support.wordpress.com The search box there produces results from forum threads as well as from support docs. Happy blogging! :)
